Village outreach
Churches built, orphans cared for, widows and lepers supported, and a Vacation Bible School that drew 536 children on a single day in May 2026, all led by Pastor Jeremiah Daniels.

Kids in Crisis is immensely grateful and privileged to join forces with Pastor Dr. Jeremiah in Cheyyar, India. Our collaboration has empowered us to extend the love and teachings of Jesus to orphaned children and to provide vital support to widows, lepers and the visually impaired.
Together we have played a pivotal role in completing the construction of several churches, which serve as beacons of hope and faith in the community. Our combined efforts have also carried the message of hope and salvation to numerous unreached villages, reaching hearts that were previously untouched by the gospel. Through this partnership we are making a tangible and lasting impact on the lives of countless individuals, fostering a brighter future filled with love, compassion and spiritual growth.
The partnership began in June 2019 with a first offering sent to Cheyyar. Since then it has supported four evangelists month by month, kept the churches fed and open through the COVID lockdowns, built and dedicated churches for Pastor Ruby, Pastor Vijay Yohan and Pastor Lawrence, planted a church at Perumballam, and carried a 225-day prayer initiative through every village, after which twelve pastors were ordained. Vacation Bible School has grown from 317 children in 2023 to 654 different children in 2025, and in May 2026 its final day alone drew 536.

A ministry vehicle
A 15-passenger vehicle for Pastor Jeremiah's outreach across the villages, delivered in March. It carries believers to services, brings children to programs, and reaches remote areas.
Vacation Bible School
A three-day VBS on May 5–7 reached 654 children from villages throughout Cheyyar Taluk. Storms collapsed the arrangements and knocked out electricity, but the team persevered. Many children accepted Christ, and several now attend church every Sunday with their new Bibles.
A new church in Keezhmattai
A Christian brother donated land in Keezhmattai, a village surrounded by fifty others. The building was finished in November with a metal roof, concrete flooring and a welcoming portico, and now awaits its formal opening. Pastor Nehemiah leads the ministry to this growing area.
A water well at Perumballam
A borewell at Pastor Johnson Babu's church. Workers dug 320 feet through rocky ground before finding water. The well now provides fresh water for the church and the surrounding community.
A home restored
An elderly couple in the church, both daily laborers, lost their hut to severe storms. We helped rebuild their home, providing safe shelter and demonstrating Christ's love.
Christmas outreach
New clothes and a dinner with cake for 103 children, a new saree and a chicken dinner for 107 widows, a dress or saree and a meal for 20 blind and leprosy patients, and a gift for each of the 16 branch pastors' families. About $4,500 in all.

Vacation Bible School ran from May 11 to 13, 2026. Teachers came from Chennai in April to train the local team of 25 teachers and 110 volunteers, and buses and autos went out to eleven villages each morning. Attendance grew every day: about 390 children on the first day, 480 on the second and 536 on the third. The gospel was preached plainly, many children accepted Jesus and were led in a prayer of dedication, and the last day ended with a puppet show and chicken biryani for everyone.
Nine of those children came from Perungattur, a village 17 kilometers from Cheyyar that had no church. On May 17 an evening children's ministry began in their village so that they can keep growing, and the children of Perungattur now gather every week.

What the work looks like week by week.

- Sunday worship at the main church draws 230 to 250 people every week, with 70 to 80 children in their own Sunday ministry.
- Fellowships through the week: more than 60 young people on Monday evenings, 50 women on Fridays, 40 men each month, and over 100 believers at the monthly day of fasting and prayer.
- Beyond the church walls: breakfast and the gospel with 60 members of the deaf community, food packets for more than 200 people at the town bus stand, and an evening serving dinner at an old age home with 40 residents.
- The branch churches: sixteen congregations across the villages, one of which, at Panaiur, celebrated its 21st anniversary this year.
- Practical help: a storm-wrecked home rebuilt for an elderly couple, and a 320-foot borewell that now supplies a church and its neighbors.
Kids in Crisis has supported this work since June 2019 with monthly support for four evangelists, $150 a month each, plus the Vacation Bible School, the Christmas outreach, church buildings, wells and emergency help as needs arise. See the current needs.
A note on privacy: Pastor Jeremiah's reports name the families and individuals who receive help. We keep those names off this site.
